Terms of Service
Last updated October 8, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Joystock when you use the app. We've kept them short and plain. By creating an account, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The beta
Joystock is in beta and invite-only. It's still being built, so features will change, things may break, and it may occasionally be unavailable. The beta is free. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price in advance, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.
2. Your account
You need to be 18 or older. Keep your password private; you're responsible for what happens in your account. Each invite is for one person, so please don't share yours.
3. Your data stays yours
Everything you put into Joystock (your inventory, costs, sales, photos and notes) belongs to you. You let us store and process it only to run the app for you. You can download it or close your account at any time from Settings.
One exception, to make prices more accurate: when one of your games sells, Joystock takes only the game's title, platform, condition, what it sold for and the date. It never takes your name, your store, the buyer or the listing. It combines those with other sellers' sales to work out the prices you and other sellers see. A price built this way only shows once enough different sellers' sales are behind it, so no single sale can be traced back to you.
4. Connecting eBay
When you connect your eBay store, you allow Joystock to read your store information and, when you ask it to, to create, update and end listings on your behalf, under eBay's own user agreement. You're responsible for what you publish. You can disconnect whenever you like. Joystock is an independent product and isn't made, endorsed or sponsored by eBay.
5. How prices are made, and why they're estimates
Joystock's prices come from its own proprietary pricing system. It blends several sources: recent public sold listings on marketplaces such as eBay, sales made by Joystock sellers (see section 3), and your own sales. It cleans them with its own rules, for example leaving out lots, broken copies and other regions, and weighs each source by how recent it is and how many sales are behind it. The pricing system, the rules behind it and the price data it builds belong to Joystock.
Prices, "pay at most" amounts, profit figures, and anything read by AI from a photo or list are still estimates. They can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you buy, sell or price a game. Nothing in Joystock is financial, tax or legal advice.
6. Using Joystock fairly
Please don't use Joystock to break the law or eBay's rules, upload things you don't have the right to, try to reach other people's accounts or data, overload or scrape the service, copy Joystock's prices or price data in bulk, or resell access to it. We may pause an account that does, and we'll tell you why.
7. Names and trademarks
Game, console and company names such as Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Sega and eBay belong to their owners and are used only to describe your items. Joystock isn't affiliated with any of them. Game cover art is shown for reference only.
8. Closing your account
You can close your account any time in Settings. We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms. After an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. No warranty
Joystock is provided "as is" during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Joystock isn't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost sales, lost profits or bad buying decisions, arising from using the app. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it (during the free beta, that's zero). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Joystock after that, the new terms apply.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
